Social Media Specialist, Time Out Market

Role Overview 

Time Out Market is looking for a Social Media Specialist to join our team! The Social Media Specialist will be ultimately responsible for the day-to-day management of all social media platforms for all Time Out Markets social accounts in North America – Time Out Market Miami, New York, Boston, Chicago and Montreal and our global Time Out Market account, Time Out Chefs as well as collaborating closely with Time Out Market Dubai.

Working closely with the local Marketing Specialists of Time Out Market in each of its cities, the Social Media Specialist will be responsible for the planning and execution of Time Out Markets’ Social/Digital presence, and other social needs that may arise in future, including forward-planning, gathering assets, writing copy, and posting content daily across all cities. This will include working with local Marketing Specialists, creators and our existing asset banks to deliver material for posts, and sourcing user-generated content that is engaging and legally compliant. Additionally, the Social Media Specialist will advise local Marketing Specialists on social best practice, support them in the creation of other social assets, and help monitor user feedback on Time Out Market platforms. Review current social monitoring platforms and help determine if changes are required.

The Social Media Specialist will also oversee the deployment of all paid social campaigns across Time Out Markets’ accounts. He/She will be responsible for leading the planning, executing and delivering on the set KPIs.

Finally, the Social Media Specialist will be tasked with all social reporting across Time Out Markets – feeding back weekly on account growth and interaction rate, as well as successful and unsuccessful content.

Key Responsibilities

• In close collaboration with local Time Out Market Marketing Specialists, maintain and populate the content calendar of all North America Time Out Market cities including UGC, content created by chefs, in-house shoots, DMs and Instagram Story Takeovers.
• Manage daily posting on our global Time Out Market channel, Time Out Chefs.
• Ensure all Time Out Market content is exciting, relevant, accurate and on-brand.
• Write and schedule all social feed content across Time Out Markets social accounts, and review content local Time Out Market Managers provide and write to ensure consistency across all cities.
• Work with local marketing specialists and PR to identify and collaborate with local influencers and creators to maximize our efforts.
• Engage in outreach to our community of chefs, including working with chefs on content creation, promotion and cross-sharing.
• Engage in community outreach over our social platforms.
• Coordinate with local marketing specialists to ensure regular creation of new social assets.
• Report on engagement and efficacy weekly and optimize and pivot strategy to maximize audience growth, engagement and ultimately footfall to the Markets.
• Work closely with Time Out’s editorial team to ensure Time Out Markets are being promoted appropriately through editorial channels, and Time Out Market content is in line with the broader goals of the business and brand.

Skills and Experience

You must have a strong passion for digital and social platforms, interest in finding new digital talents (photographers, influencers, industry disruptors), quantitative skills and a dedicated interest in food as well as digital trends. You must have the ability to apply an elevated brand sensibility to all creative and social platforms.

You must have the ability to apply an elevated brand sensibility to all creative and social platforms. Video production and editing skills are highly desirable, as is a familiarity with Photoshop and a range of social media management and reporting platforms.

• Excellent communicator and team player
• At least 4 years experience in a social media role at a publisher, marketing agency, retail / hospitality company or large brand
• Experience in creatively developing visual-led and video content, especially for the hospitality sector is highly desired
• Language skills required: must be capable of writing sparkling short-form copy in English. Fluency in a second language (Spanish or French) is desirable but not mandatory
• Expertise publishing across all social channels is mandatory, as is a growth mindset and a willingness to learn new things, fast
• Some experience with paid social, particularly Facebook Ad Manager, is desirable
• Educated to degree level
• Experience with Salesforce Social Studio, Sprout and CrowdTangle is desirable
