Role Overview

Love building small high performing teams? Get a buzz off winning the new sale? We have a great opportunity for an experienced Sales Manager to join as a key member of Time Out’s Local Sales team focused on selling social, digital and print advertising solutions to NYC business owners in the food/drink vertical, exposing them to the coveted Time Out audience. 

You will be responsible for structuring, managing and developing a team of 4 Sales Executives and Account Managers, in addition to developing and driving your own new business sales. The Sales and Account Management are responsible for growing revenue from new customers and renewing & up-selling to existing customers.

You will be hands on with your team, be comfortable with outbound sales calls, and able to build a drive a team to perform against metrics and increase Time Out’s business with customers to achieve their revenue goals. 

The Premium Profiles team is fast-paced and dynamic, constantly striving to not only exceed monthly targets, but surpass them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on the floor sales management, inspiration and coaching to a team of Sales Executives & Account Managers to achieve growth, hit sales targets, and maintain strong retention

  • Own recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of sales representatives; ensure team meets key KPIs

  • Be responsible for all reporting systems ensuring compliance by the team; provide regular updates on sales, retention performance

  • Work with key functional teams in NYC and globally to support the success of Premium Profiles

  • Exceed monthly sales team quotas and successfully complete all activities that drive revenue generation

  • Implement strategic sales training, planning, and forecasting ensuring pricing, pitches, and packages meet the needs of customers

  • Continuously develop and maintain your pipeline of business, making a high volume of daily outbound calls to local and mid-market business owners within the food/drink vertical

  • Monitor market and competitor activity and share insights with senior leadership and sales teams.

Skills and Experience

  • At least 3 years experience in a fast-paced media, advertising, food/ drink or B2B sales; successful previous experience as a  sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets

  • Familiarity with online and offline advertising solutions

  • Excellent Leadership & Influencing skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; strong numeric aptitude; IT literate - excel & word skills

  • Strong communication & negotiation skills

  • Self-starter, Result-oriented, high energy, adaptable and inquisitive

  • Ability to be calm under pressure and thrive in a start-up like mentality

  • College Degree

  • Fluent in English (written and Oral)
