Ad Tech Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with hands-on experience to join our Technology organization. This role will be working in the area of advertising products and ad optimization and technology on our consumer facing web site. Previous experience in the area of advertising technology is helpful, but not required.  You will need to be comfortable with multiple technologies and frameworks across multiple levels of the development stack. You will partner with business stakeholders, integration partners and your colleagues on the tech team to develop user oriented services that are privacy and marketing related (3rd party APIs, ad optimization, consent management).

Responsibilities

  • Develop software solutions in a self sufficient team with a focus on simplicity and scale
  • Collaborate with counterparts in product, sales and ad operations to identify software solutions and 3rd party partners that will deliver business value and grow revenue
  • Work on consumer facing features and supporting web-site code
  • Develop new features using TypeScript and NodeJS and maintain current stack (Vanilla Javascript, PHP Symfony)
  • Help make architectural decisions about new platforms and frameworks as well as contribute to our NodeJS/Koa/Typescript rebuild
  • Have a voice in the future of a growing business by advocating the usage of software/technology to solve business goals, and formulate solutions to everyday business problems
  • Help create a culture of problem-solvers

Skills and Experience

● 3+ years software development experience
● Fluent in Javascript, and at least one other programming language
● Familiar with common/standard design patterns
● Experience developing web pages with HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP
● Understanding of potential breakpoints when scaling for the web
● Experience with Docker and containers is a plus
● BS/BA in Computer Science/Math is a plus
● Experience using modern source control systems
● Experience working with DFP (GAM) API and DFP (GAM) reporting API to support programmatic advertising a plus
● Able to communicate clearly verbally and in written documentation
● Share opinions on coding practices and technical design rigor, and a willingness to debate
● Comfortable working in a team environment and collaborating across disciplines
