Role Overview

As UK Sales Manager, Offers you will have responsibility for the UK Time Out Exclusive Offers team which sources and sells deals to our ever growing audience through our online channels and magazine, helping to grow our multi million pound transactional deals business. You will be tasked with structuring, managing and developing a team of 5 Sales and Account Managers, in addition to developing and driving your own portfolio of business. The Sales and Account Managers are responsible for driving existing and new business as well as ongoing account management.  You will be hands on with your team, be client facing and able to build a strategy to increase Time Out’s business with large scale partners and customers to achieve their revenue goals. 

You'll work with other heads of departments to cooperatively build growth plans, share new ideas, business opportunities and best practices. You will have a tangible track record of leading a partnerships or business development team within a senior role in the e-commerce and preferably the daily deals space. You will have significant experience in structuring, managing and developing Sales teams having worked in both best practice structured environments and in smaller developing businesses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, own and manage your own portfolio of deals and deliver against personal revenue targets
  • Develop and execute sales plans for existing and new merchants across multiple categories, defining and growing each category, including specific targets, KPIs and reports to measure and build on performance
  • Utilise analytics tools to undertake detailed analysis of trade performance, including reviewing successes, weaknesses and opportunities in order to continuously deliver business objectives
  • Own, develop and manage the trading calendar with regards to trading priorities including exclusives and general promotional activities in order to maximise sales and grow audience & coordinate delivery across online and offline channels
  • Define and refine the skills, structures, processes and performance measures needed within the sales team to drive growth
  • Engage, develop and train the sales team, providing leadership to ensure a sales focus and culture is embedded in the team
  • Increase the company’s profile in the trade and wider consumer market 
  • Be a champion of the company reporting system(s) and develop sales reporting formats for the senior management team and own team development 
  • Support the Snr Director to develop and implement strategies in area of responsibility to achieve company growth, profit and brand objectives
  • Support with ad-hoc projects as they arise.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Degree qualified
  • Extensive experience in the Ecommerce business across Marketing, Product, IT, Operations, Finance, ideally within the entertainment or theatre sector and with a Merchandising/Trading background
  • Excellent relationship management skills at a senior level 
  • 2-5 years’ experience of managing a sales team demonstrating excellent people management and leadship skills 
  • Strong commercial acumen, highly numerate, analytical and data driven with evidence of meeting/exceeding sales targets, along with growing sales revenue/net profit
  • Excellent planning & organising capabilities
  • Self-motivated with a strong entrepreneurial spirit to rapidly drive business growth 
  • The ability to work collaboratively with different functions and skillsets, at all levels
  • Clear communication with the ability to present information succinctly and charismatically, verbally and written
